Datawatch Systems, Inc., a leader in commercial building electronic access control and alarm monitoring, is seeking a Service Technician to service our access control and CCTV systems in commercial building in the DMV region. 

The Service Technician will respond to calls for service from customers.  They will travel to customer sites to troubleshoot and repair access control and alarm monitoring equipment.  The Service Technician will interact with the customer, vendors and other Datawatch employees to resolve issues to the customer’s satisfaction.

The hours for this position are 7:00 am – 3:00 pm Monday through Friday with some opportunities for overtime.  Region of responsibility includes DC, MD and VA.


Pay starts at $30/hour commensurate with experience plus benefits and paid time off.  Cell phone, computer, and use of company vehicle.   • Work independently to troubleshoot and repair access control/alarm monitoring equipment at customer site
  • Interact with customers to describe problems and resolutions
  • Ticket completion through a mobile device
  • Regularly check in with their supervisor


  • Must be able to climb ladders and able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Have 3 to 5 years of experience servicing access control, CCTV, and burg systems
  • Have a HS diploma or equivalent
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills
  • Be detailed oriented and must have a willingness to learn
  • Be able to use a multi-meter 
  • Have basic understanding of relay logic
  • Be able to climb ladders
  • Be able to lift 50lbs boxes of wire
  • Experience working with Access Control, CCTV, & ADEMCO required
  • Valid drivers license
